Since 2017, I have been hosting the APS Awards Gala as a way of celebrating all it means to be independent. Held the 4th Thursday in August, this is a night where indie authors/poets, singers, and filmmakers gather to network and honor each other and their contributions to their respective industries. Affectionately called by attendees, “The Black Oscars” and “The Black Emmys”, this event brings hundreds of individuals together from all across the country proving the point of our mantra that “We Are Better Together”!!!
